Bury County Music School Open Morning

I mentioned before that Little Miss has taken up the violin and plays in the Cygnets String Orchestra at KEGS on a Saturday morning. Well today was open morning at the music school. All the usual activities were on and anyone was free to go and hear them. There were also Coffee and Cakes in Ed's place, along with a stall from the excellent local music shop - Balaam's Music - which was handy as it saved us a trip into town to replace Little Miss' broken rosin for her bow. Little W came along too, although mostly, it has to be said, so he could have a chocolaty snack.

We were treated to a concert performance of Open Country (by John Widger).

Little W and I joined in with the singing of Chocolate Treats and Hot Cross Buns as the orchestra played and sang both tunes at the same time. At the end they practised taking applause from the audience and how to do an album cover photo shoot. "Has anyone got a camera?", asked Mrs P, the conductor. I was happy to oblige...
